PROCESS
Step 1
get in touch
The information you share is always confidential. In the initial conversation, we’ll talk at a high level about your business and your goals, explore the opportunity and see if it is a good fit for both parties.
Step 2
Deeper Understanding + Letter of Intent
During this process, we may request additional information about the company. If we are interested in moving forward, we’ll submit a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) that lays out the key terms of our partnership.
Step 3
Diligence and Close
After an LOI is signed, we start the legal documentation process. During this time, we will also continue to learn more about the business and complete our final diligence.
On the day of closing, we will sign final docs, wire you funds, and celebrate together!

WHO WE ARE
MARCUS CASTRO
FOUNDER
Marcus is the Founder and Managing Partner of Mandacaru Capital. He has numerous years of professional experience in business strategy, finance, and operations. His experience reaches across agribusiness, real estate, and financial services from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
Marcus received a business administration degree from the University of São Paulo, where he engaged in academic social-impact projects and interned in investment banking. After graduation, Marcus joined Syngenta’s leadership program, where he gained operational experience in a multinational agribusiness company. Later, Marcus joined Deloitte Financial Advisory in São Paulo, where he gained hands-on financial and strategic experience within various industries. After two years with Deloitte, Marcus spent 3 years in Hectare Capital, the real estate investment management company he co-founded and managed as CEO. Marcus launched Hectare from scratch and invested in more than 30 projects across Brazil, raising +$100m in REIT fund.
Prior to founding Mandacaru Capital, Marcus completed his MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship through Acquisition (“ETA”). He was a member of the 2022 Zell Fellows ETA Cohort.
Marcus Castro is passionate about taking on challenges. Building and growing his own profitable and social-impact company has been his ultimate goal. Marcus decided to take a leap in continuing a lifelong entrepreneurial journey as he saw it as his favorite way to uplift and have a positive impact on those around him. Marcus founded Mandacaru Capital in 2022 and assembled a team of experienced investors and advisors with deep industry expertise, all of whom have founded or acquired, and grown successful companies. All with the purpose of bringing his humble values to buying and operating one special business.
